Need some help

Post by JoeyDengler » Tue Sep 09, 2008 1:29 am

I am really looking to buy a Korg MS20 legacy collection asap but was wondering-and i apologize if this sounds silly of me asking-Can i just play the synth normally by itself or will it need to be used through the computer software that comes with it?
Like i said-i apologize if this sounds pretty dumb but i just didnt want to buy one if i cant play it by itself. Plus though i love them i am still pretty new to the synth world. Thanks.

No, it contains no sound engine inside. It is only for playing the MS-20 emulator or another software synth on the PC. The controller only sends MIDI signals that contain the key you pressed on/off, and the values of the knobs when you twist them. Still a great package, and the patch panel works just like the MS-20's.
