How much is reasonable for a synclavier?

A friend of mine is selling a synclavier to a studio and we're trying to figure out how much it's worth. He says it's in flawless condition both functionally and and physically. Any thoughts on how much these are worth?

Practically it's an obsolete item compared to today's (or even yesteryear's) productiontools, no matter the status it once had. It'll either make quite some money for its reputation alone, or make not much because there's not much reason to use it today. It also depends on how the model is expanded.

Depending on the options and condition I'd guess anywhere from $1400 to $10k. I'd need more info to narrow it down. What options? Sampling? FM? VPK? What libraries? How many voices? Direct to disk? Serviced recently? All of those things will influence the price.
