I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

DX7 Ram card loaded with 32 Latin Tubas.
$249
What's interesting is that there are 6 people watching the auction. If I had some RAM cards I would definitely load them up with Latin Tubas, and sell them.

I wonder if this is one of those weird things where a certain bit of oddball gear ends up being fetishized by a specific music scene. There was a weird thing a couple of years ago where a certain style of Mexican pop music ended up driving up the price of some really, REALLY weird synthesizers by a couple of hundred bucks (I don't remember which one; my memory's a bit hazy.)

Oberheim DX for $850… no BIN and fully bloated shipping.
Sure it's in nice shape and has some extras… I sold my Mint DXa with go manual for $500. So regretting that.

According to the text, the first item Ensoniq made, a drum machine. Get yours here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ensoniq-Pro-C ... SwqrtWoHAm
..only £2000
Although, as much as I like Ensoniq kit, I'd prefer a Linn LM1 or LM2 which usually sell for less.

In the case of this one, I consider myself an Ensoniq fan and had never even seen/heard of this. Also, he does say its a prototype....blueknob wrote:According to the text, the first item Ensoniq made, a drum machine. Get yours here:

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
I recall seeing an identical unit for sale on eBay within the past 12 months, I can't remember what it sold for, it wasn't anywhere near £1000.
Having a quick look, I notice just about everything "Wem" has really silly prices, here's one:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-origi ... SwcOFWbJ5d
A Wem CopyCat, they should maybe be around £100, but $1000!!! Many of the other Copycats have prices way too high. I did own one, they do have their own unique sound.
I think is is daft too: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wem-pick-a-ba ... SwoydWmowV
Wem tried to be innovative in their day (1970's) but there were other things conspiring against them.

There's an SY85 going for €400 in Buy and Sell (Irish Ads Paper/website). I think it was €499 originally. I guess some people will start with a crazy price in the hope of finding a sucker. Like most things for sale, it's not ridiculous from the seller's point of view if someone is prepared to pay!
People are fishing for suckers, they figure someone is dumb enough, and well....they wouldn't do it if it didn't work
If you don't like the prices (I don't) DON'T PAY THEM, that is the best way to get the market under control
