All DrumTraks were made in Japan, and have a message of peace- "May Peace Prevail on Earth".
Really?, I had absolutely no idea. So dave got some of his stuff made overseas, was there any other SCI stuff made there?

I just don't think that this system could possibly have such a unique sound to be worth the asking price.
mmm yeah, but that argument could be true of just about any vintage synth to some degree. Sure it's not as wacko as an EMS or Buchla, or as iconic as a Moog 55 but it is damn good. You make a good point though, for my money I'd rather get a full System 100 setup (not 100m) in a heartbeat, same massive sound, but in a smaller footprint ;)

The Split Eight & Sixtraks were also definitely made there. In fact, the split eight was basically just an eight voice Sixtraks.
bonne chance

those aren't exactly uncommon, unless you're meaning someone auctioning it off... there are at least 3 up on ebay over there in the UK...

It's a beautiful analog chorus. I have one and think that it's worth up to 150-175.

Yes, ridiculous price. I dont' get the fascination with these, apart from the fact that it is the biggest baddest single oscillator I ever heard. I think the phaser is rare because it's c**p! Sliders fill up with dust too.

The words "vintage" and "roland" come to mind  I've heard the oscillator is great but the filter is weak (which, if it's anything like the regular filter on the SH5, I can totally attest to)

 Don't tell them that!

Gleeman Pentaphonic in Philly(check out the demo, pretty funny):

Gleeman Pentaphonic Synthesizer VERY RARE - $5000 (Port Richmond)
Date: 2010-10-20, 7:43PM EDT
Reply to: sale-mjkek-2016982073@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

5-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with sequencer, writable preset function, and a built-in speaker. VERY RARE, only about 50 were made, only about half of which contained the preset function. Also comes with the original instruction manual. Everything is in perfect working condition.

Read more about it here: http://www.vintagesynth.com/misc/pentaphonic.php

Also, here's a quick video demo that I made:

Located in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.

Asking for $5000.

WOW, that's too f**k funny right there, hahahahahaha.

The dude CLEARLY googled it, found VSE, and priced it for the highest number he found on his computer screen. Lucky bastard. He COULD sell it for that price, too, seeing as how it's rare as h**l, but what about the demand for that thing in Philly? Dunno....

Interesting, interesting indeed.

Speaking of rare, has anyone seen a Linn LM-1 on eBay before? Just curious, the thing probably sold for too much, haha.
