"Adjusted for inflation". Quite possibly the stupidest eBayer I've seen in a while.

HOLY f**k. He deserves a bronze medal, and a nice email informing him that most people would rather spend that $4425 on an actual Jupiter 8.
bonne chance

Dude, you're forgetting about inflation... he's only asking what it would cost brand new in today's money, which is fair.
Do you even post on vse bro?

if it's an older person who bought it new back then, agreed, innocent mistake.
regardless it IS a ridiculous asking price. i actually messaged them letting them know how much my JX-8P rig recently sold for.

Is it me, or has this thread become predominantly a place to poke fun and laugh at clueless sellers frivolously trying to cash in on the vintage craze by charging too much for gear they never use, and wish to sell to someone else who may eventually do the same thing? It's a voyeur's guide to amateur commerce by amateur musicians.

With a spare hour or two, what do you bet someone could browse through this entire thread and make a s**t list consisting of every seller on ebay to avoid buying vintage synths from? It'll be a new sticky: Sellers to avoid. In another 2 years' time just with this thread alone, there's a chance you could follow the trail of owners of the exact same item from seller to seller, and watch the price get higher and higher.
I am no longer in pursuit of vintage synths. The generally absurd inflation from demand versus practical use and maintenance costs is no longer viable. The internet has suffocated and vanquished yet another wonderful hobby. Too bad.

I understand where you're coming from, but I looked at this guys feedback and he has sold plenty of synthesizers of new and old at fair market prices. I'm guessing it's someone just getting a laugh, so I sent him a message telling him he made my day. If they're serious, then still "wtf", but it made me laugh.
bonne chance

Those definitely look amazing! I would be so scared to ship that thing though, and those seem highly prone to issues from what I've read. Though at least this owner sounds like he's maintained it well.
