just an fyi, this is definitely the legacy controller. per the seller "Its the midi joint sorry for the confusion... not the vintage". Not that anyone here would be dumb enough to just spend willy nilly on synths.....

Looks similar in design to the SVC-350, wonder if they are from close release dates? I'd love to hear it regardless.

*edit* says so in the description...move along, move along.

I picked up a SPV-355 a little over a year ago. I've only messed with it once when I received it and it's pretty thick sounding. It's supposed to be the same sound engine as the MRS-2 ProMars, but I have not had a chance to A/B them side by side. I borrowed my brother's trumpet and trombone with hopes to make a demo video, but have yet to find the time. I still have not tested the tracking with anything other than CV/Gate and audio from a SH-101.

Mine is missing its rack ears, so if anyone has a lead on some Roland RSS (Roland Studio Series) rack ears or an inexpensive dead unit, please let me know.

I'd have to look it up, but probably around $700.

I sold my SPV-355 a year or so ago for about that much. spaceboy, I'm pretty sure I offered it to you in trade first but you said you didn't need another guitar synth.

The SIP/SIB guitar/bass preamps use the same ears and usually go for pretty cheap, seems like between $100-200. They're cool preamps too! The guitar one has a discrete (I think) 3 band EQ and overdrive while the bass one has a built in compressor, nice for running synths through.

That was probably a good deal MS-20. I like that little skull/crossbones sticker near the power cord.

I (somewhat deliberately) let that slip through my hands.. the awful looking keys really put me off, and "when it doubt, avoid" is the one piece of ebay advice I wish I'd known earlier on!
Do you even post on vse bro?
