Cheap Drum Machine?

Post by retrosounds » Fri Sep 04, 2009 2:21 am

I've decided to sell my EM-1, the drums are a little to realistic for me and it's more than I need.
I'm wondering what would be a good, simple replacement. It needs to be cheap because money is tight (As always).
I've been thinking of getting a DDD-1 (Mostly for the lo-fi drum sounds and sampling option) but I'm open to anything else.
Anyone have some suggestions?

get a 707. they're cheap and totally underrated. individual outs, more or less the same programming as a 909, i actually sometimes wish my other drum machines had faders instead of knobs. no EQ or sustain control or anything like that, but with individual outs you can use effects to mess w/ that stuff.

have you tried the ER-1?

It suffers a bit (OK.. a lot.. ridiculously alot) for snares and bassdrums, but is great for weird synthetic percussion

I'd say get a 707 or a Roland R8 if possible. Would cost you a bit more than an ER-1 though. The DDD-1 might be a good option. But dosent always come with the sampling card.
