I'm looking for a drum machine, any ideas?

Post by Mati » Wed Oct 28, 2009 3:23 pm

Hi,
I'm looking for a (cheap) drum machine for a project I have in mind witch involves a lot of clean delay-ie synths and abstract loops of electric pianos, but I need a drum machine for it. The only requirements are that its sound minimalist and electronic, and has a good interface.
Any ideas? (much appreciated) :D

Korg KR-55, cool preset drummachine with minimalistic electronic sound. Good simple interface. Don't know if it is cheap anymore. Had a lot of fun with mine.

Minimalistic and electronic? Maybe the early Boss drum machines DR-55 and DR-110.

If your going for a clean sound it might be easier and better to get a drum sampler.

All of the drum machines mentioned above would present problems when syncing, as they are all quite old...

Korg KR-55s don't really go too cheap nowadays, but are excellent.
Come on Bennett.... Let's Party!

also have a look at the mfb 503, 522 or 502. they're damn cheap and they sound pretty good for that (at least the 503 and 522). the analog drums are also quite editable.
