I am totally lost (since a few months) in the whole audio card/inferface/mixer thing. Too much products to look for and too things to think about/understand. If anybody could help me get in the right way...

how many inputs/outputs do you need? what budget?

I guess 4 inputs (for two stereo sources or one stereo and two mono instruments) and 4 outputs would be the best, a bit more inputs would be usefull but not needed and more outputs would be useless. I'd like a midi I/O too. Budget of 300$ but cheaper is better...

Thanks

I think I found the one. Is the Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 a good interface? How would you rate the compagny/build/sound/etc?

PS: I don't get how they can call this a 8 in/6 outs interface, they count s/pdif as 4 ins and two outs?
Edit: I found the 2 extra ins, those are Loopback, virtual, but they don't do the job of real inputs...
