Some questions about Roland Jv-1080

Are there certain models of the JV-1080 series that sound better than others or are more reliable? I know this is a factor with some of Rolands synths like the MKS80 so I'd like to know if it's the same case with the JV-1080? Especially considering the long production period for the JV-1080 from about 94 to 2001 or something like that. Are there certain 1080's that are more desirable than others? if so please let me know which version I should be looking for.

There are a few sounds from back in the day that I really like and I'm trying to add them to my setup. 1 of them is the JX-1 Rock Organ patch. Someone on another forum said it's also on the Roland U-220 but I've never been able to confirm it through a Youtube sound demo or anything like that. The JX-1 sound that I'm looking for is at 3:12 in this video.

I'm curious to know if the JX-1 Rock Organ patch is on the JV-1080's Factory Sounds or on any of the JV Expansion Boards?

I'd also like to know if this Choir patch from the U-220 is on the JV-1080's Factory Sounds or on any of the JV Expansion Boards? http://www.synthmania.com/Roland%20U-22 ... 0Choir.mp3

Thank you for any help!!

(addressing first question)

The 1080 is completely digital, through and through - unlike the analog MKS-80/50/30s etc. So probably not.

The only things I would think that might change over the 1080's run might be small, unnoticeable things like small changes things like PSU components, LCD inverters, DA converters, etc. None of which have a large impact on the sound like the clearly audible differences between the revisions of the MKS-80 which involve different filter and oscillator chipsets.

The base waveform(s) is(are) probably the same on the 1080 as the JX 1, it's been a while since I played with a JX 1 so I'm not sure. The SR JV 80 08 (Keyboards of the 60s and 70s) card has killer organs - blow anything the JX 1 could do out of the water. I did like the 220 choir myself - the Orchestral, Session and of course the Vocal cards all have good choirs. Hope that helps.
