Yamaha CS1X rack?

Post by samwlogan » Sat Jul 21, 2012 5:11 pm

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the Yamaha CS1X keyboard sounds/patches/motherboard without it being attached to that god awful piece of blue plastic that it comes with? I've had a lot of problems gigging with the CS1X because the keyboard is so cheap and unreliable but the sounds are just amazing.

any ideas??

I always assumed the CS6r covered all of the CS1X bases, and then some. Correct me if wrong, members ...

Different sound engine.
Having said that, the cs6r could maybe be a nice alternative providing the sounds yor're after?
I haven't much personal experience with the cs1x, but I did own the cs6x, and it was rather tasty at
at a lot of sounds. Also, I'm not sure how the cs1x engine works, but maybe the plug-in card plg150-xg could give you more cs1x sounding patches within the cs6x?

The RM1X would be the closest thing to a CS1x rack, but I don't think the factory patch sets are the same.

The PLG150-XG is a GM/XG engine, not the same as the CS1x engine.

Basically you're out of luck.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

sos mentioned that the CS1x came from the MU50 module, with some additional sounds. But if it has to be a rack, the MU90 could be the closest with more rom size.
