get sh-32, lose microkorg?
Have been keeping a look out for a potential swap out for my microkorg (have a ms2000r anyway) and saw one come up locally for about what I could sell my microkorg for. Is it worth the effort? In no rush, but was looking out for small pieces of gear, and if it's still around it's in my hood. I'm concerned the sh-32 might be slightly harder for me to unload down the road than the microkorg? also, have a mc505 that i'm guess covers whatever drum sounds the sh32 has.

microkorgs will always be easy to sell long as the price isn't ridiculous.

SH-32 prices have more than doubled in the past 2-3 yrs, FWIW.

It's cool to have the supersaw oscillator, but bare in mind the stepping on the SH32 is the worst of any synth I've ever experienced - so if you like live filter tweaking it is simply not the box to get.

I've found much more satisfaction when I stopped buying/selling $300 synths and started buying/selling $600 synths. blofeld or minibrute come to mind. fwiw.

Is this due to the controllers, or the filter itself?cartesia wrote:It's cool to have the supersaw oscillator, but bare in mind the stepping on the SH32 is the worst of any synth I've ever experienced - so if you like live filter tweaking it is simply not the box to get.
I remember someone talking about this, that it could be avoided by using an external controller, but can't remember if it was the SH 32...

Regarding the flter stepping:
I read some of the comments on the sh 32 here on VSE, and it seems filter stepping doesn't occur when the filter is modulated with the lfo, envelope or from an external controller (the last point made by one guy, at least).

thanks for the advice everyone. interesting about possibly remedying the filter stepping with an external controller, hadn't heard that before.
i let it go, spent the weekend happily playing with what i already have
