Waldorf Wave Mk1

Post by halestudios » Wed Feb 25, 2015 2:12 pm

Hi,

Anyone know how I can check if the Wave I have is a Rev2 or Rev1? Also how do I check if it has had the EPROM upgrade if it is a Rev1?
Will the Rev1 have CEM filter chips as standard or will I need to look under the hood?

Thanks, any help is appreciated :)

Rev A has a dark blue-ish case with green background LCD.

Rev B has a grey case with blue background LCD.

The EPROM can only be checked by opening it up and inspecting it or some button combination or something at power on, don't remember exactly...

They all have CEMs, just different ones - Rev A CEM 3389, Rev B CEM 3387.

If you switch it on it will be like 1 second on the welcome phrase saying: Welcome to the Microwave and the software version will be indicated in that same phrase.

Mine says: Welcome to the Microwave V2.0

Here is more info on the MW1:

This is confusing, it sounds like you are all talking about different synths.

I think the O.P. probably means the PPG Wave not the Waldorf Wave, then someone else mentioned the Microwave 1 & 2!

Whichever ones you all mean & have they are all fabulous amazing & desirable. I have a MWXT which I ill be keeping, but I would love a PPG Wave & or a Waldorf Wave or MW1 even.

Perhaps Im am in error though.

Haha, true just noticed the actual title now. Rather sure that he meant the Microwaves though ("EPROM update"), for which we were answering. Otherwise, ignore what we said.

I think you are right , I would say he means Microwave 1 , with the CEM filters! & the other clues are the colours mentioned would also fit with that .

& as I am a PPG Wave , a Waldorf Wave & a Microwave 1 & 2 etc admirer , I won't ignore any posts about any of them!
