I'm looking for a synth that would fit nicely in my backpack.

1. Doesn't need to be analog
2. Doesn't need to have keys
3. MIDI is a must.

Korg Radias rack has been a backpack synth of mine, although it requires an outlet. It's a little bit long, but you can do so much with it, that extra length can really be worth it.

Blofeld and virus VAs might be smaller in their module form.

Anymore, I would use the Jp-08. Hard to really think of a better backpack synth. Midi is limited, depending on what you want to do.

The arturia micro/mini could be good as an analog mono.

Have you thought about a groove box with a cool synth engine like the command station?

Just throwing ideas out there
