Best AU Plugin emulation of LinnDrum?

Post by knolan » Mon Jun 25, 2018 3:23 pm

Anyone have any ideas on the best AU plugin based LinnDrum emulation - best quality samples, most complete sample set, most accurate tuning and sample pitch shifting as with the original; ...?

(looking to use any such emulation in Logic Pro so iOS or PC based emulations not of use in this instance).

thanks!
Kevin.

Although it's not a plug-in, I've been using this EXS24 set for Logic for years... Even produced a few Hi-NRG/Italo releases using it - proper vinyl, none of that MP3 business

AlyJames Lab VPROM with a wrapper. I recommend ddmf Metaplugin. Gives you access to a world of VST. I've been using it in Pro Tools for years now. It's reliable and well supported.

Alternatively use your own samples and process them with Plogue Chipcrusher. That's pretty much what is used in VPROM :)

Thanks for the VPROM tip - looks great and just bought it :-)

Still have to dive into to, but it looks like a lot of care went into making it.

Cheers!
Kevin.

He also makes a Simmons emulation I'm dying to try out, but for the time being it's PC-only.

You’re welcome knolan.

Waldorf Attack does great Simmons, and a helluva lot more.
