VST DX wrapper plugin?

Post by polardark » Wed Oct 25, 2006 6:57 pm

Does anyone know if there's a wrapper for letting you use DX plugins with a sequencer that only supports VST?

There are a bunch of really nice DX plugs out there, and i'm really curious if i can somehow get them working in my sequencer of choice (renoise) which only supports VST natively.

Effect Chainer:

ffx-4 FX rack:

I haven't used either yet but second one reportedly works better with Cubase 4 and saves with the project.

I only know of a program that does the reverse: let's you use VST's in place of DirectX's. I think you're better off hunting for VST replacements because there are so many of them and not so many DirectX ones. I'm surprised anybody still makes DirectX plug ins since VST is so much more popular and so many free ones are out there.

Thanks for your replies. I got Effect Chainer working pretty well now. Not sure i like DX plugins actually, but there are some pretty unique ones out there :)
