I think its more a stable platform for pro musicians myself especially with only one MIDI in.

receptor is great for a composer that uses a Mac as a main machine and has (and can replace) 2-4 gigasampler PCs slaved to the master Mac.

obviously 1 receptor will not replace 4 PCs, but you get the point

h**l, get a refurbed 15.4" macbook pro with C2D and 2 gigs of ram for $1800...

No brainer for me as well, I've never ran into any problems with my iMac, I'd be more than willing to trust a mac onstage... I don't need any magic box with a homebrew OS to run softsynths/effects/amp sims.
