Favourite software FILTER plug-ins?

Post by MitchK1989 » Tue Dec 18, 2007 4:24 pm

I know a lot of people on here are obsessed with filterbanks and such in hardware (shermans, ebbe and flut, etc.) but I've recently taken quite a liking to using filter plugins to mangle my sounds... Do you have any favourites?

So far I've demo'd and rather liked the following, and will probably buy them all sooner or later:

U-He Filterscape (Amazing dual SVF filters, delay, morphing EQ, and comes with a VA synth as well!)
Fabfilter Volcano (excellent modulation options and some of the highest quality sounding filters in software)
Sugar-Bytes WOW (Really messed up vowel filtering from their synth "unique", tons of mod options, and best of all... An amazing overdrive section)

Anyone tried out Tone2's Filterbank 3? I haven't gotten the chance to demo it yet.

Also, how are the Audiodamage plugins? They don't have demos so I'm going to have to go off of user opinions.

The McDSP F1 is really great, doesn't have any digital artifacts at all. I't more of an EQ filter than a creative one though.

These aren't very powerful, but they are free and easy to use:

* Celox Filter
* BreakDownFilter

I'm also a fan of the fabfilter volcano.
I really dig logic pro's autofilter too, mainly for nasty distorted squelch.
