REBIRTH IS FREE!!!!
Propellerhead Software announced that they are discontinuing ReBirth today. HOWEVER, you can download, burn, and use version 2.01 FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
Here's the link to the special site:http://www.rebirthmuseum.com/
You can download a CD image, then burn it and install ReBirth for zero dollars, pounds, euros, whatever.
(In case you haven't figured it out, this is not illegal. This site is run by Propellerhead Software.)
Enjoy!
Seriously, 2 303's, and an 808 and 909 for free! Emulations or not, this beats the s**t out of paying a few thousand dollars for the things.

Yeah, my precognitive abilities really let me down. Now I look over at the box and say, "Why? Why didn't you tell me you would be free?"THM wrote:This is great but not for me (I still have my original package that I paid for).
For anyone trying to download this, there's now a message on the download page that states (kinda obviously), that the server is overcrowded...

ReBirth 2.0.1 does not run on Mac OS X, but it may run in the Classic environment of Mac OS X using built-in sound outputs. 3rd Party Audio Interfaces may not be supported with ReBirth running the OS X Classic Environment. OMS and all MIDI communication are also disabled in the OS X Classic Environment.
so...
They have made it a torrent and I finally downloaded it that way, HOWEVER. After downloading it TWICE. I've gotten the folliwign results...
1> kept telling me it was a corrupted ISO image file and couldn't be read
2> most of the time it just crashes the extraction wizard but once I got it to work and it said it needed a password.
Has ANYONE actually gotten it to work??

Ah, that's no suprise. Some new software actually searches for that and won't let you install if they find it. I had to uninstall my copy...and I'm not a pirate.John H wrote:I couldn't read the ISO in Daemon Tools though
