I really like AS-1.

Also, I sequence with Studio Vision Pro.

So, I like software.

OK, who woke this one up?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Not one of us would like to live in a world without the music software available today unless you are a millionaire or plain luddite. There are a few hardware tools that I like to use still BUT overall the software blows 80% of the hardware out of the window that I once relied on. No way would I go back to sitting there editing samples and saving to floppy disk for instance or having to recall mixer EQ and fader settings manually. I also don't like switching on a hardware device and having to worry about whether it will fail on me and I hate having to fast forward or rewind tape based systems or balls about with maintaining those systems.

+1.

It's 2013. The musical instrument market has never been so vibrant, so vast. The consumer has never been so well informed. Aren't we past all these school-yard threads by now?

Anyway, the main problem with sweeping generalisations is that they're all wrong. Right?

I just cannot use softsynths specifically.. for me, my synths must be hardware. I do use software for pretty much anything else.
