Glitch Sequencer

Post by mute » Mon May 04, 2009 6:35 am

A new MIDI sequencer has been released for PC/Mac written in Processing/Java called Glitch Sequencer. It's based on the GlitchDS for the DS but expanded upon. Pretty good stuff..

This looks cool. I'm hoping someone can help me out here. It's been a long time since I've dealt specifically with Java on my mac (g5, 10.5.6) - I've spent the last half hour trying to figure this out, but maybe someone here can help me cut to the chase.

Apparently you need version 1.6 of Java. I'm thinking I don't have it because when I load the sequencer, it doesn't seem to work properly. The instructions say that to get started, for the second step, go to the trigger page, but I click that and nothing happens.

So - how do I tell what version of Java I'm running? And how do I get 1.6/install it, etc. Anything else a moron like me might need to know? Probably really basic stuff, but thus far, I'm not finding the answers. Thanks.

looks like that version of java won't run on a g5.
