Anyone know any good sample banks of "general sounds". Things like the sound of two polymer plastic pipes hitting each other, two chunks of metal colliding etc etc, the sort of stuff you can manipulate into great percussive sounds..
Not so interested in helicopters and flushing toilets.
??

* cancels email containing a sample of a flushing toilet
FM is the ultimate hit-metal-things-with-other-metal-things-synthesis. It'd give you far more delicate variations and sound shaping options than any sampler could give you..

No. And if I were a professional sample supplier I'd think of such a subject to be so weird 'n rare that there wouldn't be any market. I highly doubt you'd be able to find any sample library like that. The best would be to buy or use a microphone and sample such things yourself.

You might want to check out some of the Tonehammer libraries like "Rust" or "Anti-Drum."

Tonehammer is superb. The OLPC library is free & contains a lot of these "everyday" sounds.
