does this vst exist?

Hey, I searched around and didn't come up with anything except for some hardware. Is there any VST that converts live audio into midi notes?

Celemony's Melodyne. But it has to be monophonic material (ie, human voice, saxophone, etc).

as for now :) the melodyne update is long awaited

logic and protools can also do this i think...?

not software, but boss dr5 drum machines are pretty cheap....
