Tyrell Nexus 6 FREE from u-he

Post by meatballfulton » Fri Apr 15, 2011 4:55 pm

From KVR:

Amazona.de has announced the release of Tyrell Nexus 6, a new free plug-in that was programmed by Urs Heckmann (mastermind of u-he) for Amazona.de.

Tyrell Nexus 6 is a virtual analog software synthesizer: the sound engine is circuit-modeled and is similar to the u-he "ACE". The features are those that we may expect from a vintage synthesizer like the Juno series from Roland.

Features:

2 Oscillators.
1 Sub-Oscillator.
1 Noise Generator.
1 Ring modulator.
1 Signal feedback.
2 LFOs.
2 ADSR envelopes.
1 Modulation Matrix.

Pricing & Availability

Tyrell Nexus 6 is free and is available for Windows, Windows x64 and Mac OS X as VST and AU instrument plug-ins.

If it sounds as good as ACE does, this is a really sweet deal. Also super easy to program...one screen, simple interface.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Wow. One of the best soft synths I ever tried, and it's free... made my month. Sounds nearly analog to me.
Best way to wait for my first Juno 60 ;)

I have ACE so I might not jump, although a streamlined interface always leads to faster creation than patching, especially on a laptop where everything is skate the mouse over, hold and drag, etc, etc.

You're in a desert, walking along in the sand, when all of a sudden you look down...

Necro time, b/c there are no other threads mentioning Tyrell nexus on VSE. Downloaded it over the weekend and it's pretty nice, especially for being free. Version 2 is pretty cool. My kids heard the noises from the computer and came over and wanted to make them too. Then again, my 4 year old will walk over and ask to play w/a synthesizer and I hand her my Monotron Duo :)

It is like using the '-killer' vst's to me, but you dont need enhancers or eq's to bring it up.
