AudioGl, Insane New Modular DAW

And people see me working on renoise they think it looks complex.

Most interesting thing to me is that it sounds pretty horn and the modular programming environment is far better than others I've seen in say MU:lab, or jeskola buzz.

I'm not sure I get the point. The final result in the second video sounded nice but nothing out of the ordinary. The programming interface looked interesting, I am so tired of GUIs that just ape the look of vintage hardware.

No website for further info :? were they inspired by Beat Kangz?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

I don't get it either, it's just...Cool.

However I'm not ruling out that it could be some sort of fake or render, I thought a lot of the synth sounds in the demo sounded just a little bit...too much like NI massive. But what would be the point in faking it?

Are you familiar with the bahn sage? The point was to trick people into posting about it on Internet forums.

The fact this project is asking for funding (in a very roundabout way) is what disturbs me. It's a mind trip trying to hoax-scan this one.

I just want a modular system that is:
- a VSTi
- blazingly fast, not '16 voices and gone is the cpu'
- not too annoying regarding the format that flows through connection cables, highly annoying that you have an idea about how something works, and suddenly the connector type doesn't match your ideas (and I'm not talking about the obvious MIDI-format and integer-format differences)
- not too annoying regarding the whole setup before you can do anything at all, or "I want to make a sound, not a synth"
- flexible cables or routing (to prevent a giant mess)

Is there anything like this? Don't answer with Synthedit or Reaktor plz.. :P
"You know I love you, CS, but this is bullshit." (Automatic Gainsay)

You can run jeskola buzz as a VST. That's the closest thing.

Back on subject, I hope this is real. With rewire I can see myself using it's modular-ness.

my first guess hearing that it's called "AudioGL" was that it's offloading synthesis onto the GPU. If that is the case then this is AWESOME because generally speaking GPUs are not utilized in audio synthesis so the only hardware acceleration options are very specialized and expensive things like UAD. Offloading synth duties to GPUs would give a rebirth to most people's computers and offer lower latency and better quality.

if it's just a 3D GUI for cpu-rendered audio then, meh.

I've heard rumors of an Arturia Bahn Sage V coming soon...

I'd use this if it were to be released.
