PPG Wave 3.V - anyone using it - how is it?

Post by knolan » Sun Mar 08, 2015 10:14 pm

I'm very interested in opinions / reviews of PPG Wave 3.V

It looks exquisite and I'll likely buy it, but would be very interested in thoughts and opinions from anyone owning it, and indeed anyone owning both it and an actual PPG 2.2 / 2.3

Thanks,
Kevin.

I have no experience to compare it to a genuine PPG, but on its own merit, I think it sounds fantastic.
"Sure that's fine in practice, but what about in theory?"

I own the 2.V version and that's phenomenal enough.

I've used it quite a bit, it operates very differently from a real PPG Wave, naturally, but the software engine is so similar that it can import PPG wave patches, and they've imitated the filter characteristics accurately.

The user interface is adapted to modern use, so you don't have to type in hexadecimal values on a keypad to enable unison or different keyboard modes :)

It's quite great. I havent compared it to a real ppg wave 2.x either.

Great - thanks! that's recommendation enough for me. I've been sitting on this one for some months, but am very keen to buy it. You've just convinced me :-)

Cheers!!
