Looking for Roland MRC-300 Floppy Disk for MC-300 [Solved]

Post by billybobjoe » Tue Sep 17, 2019 6:47 am

Hello,

As the title states, I'm looking for a Roland MRC-300 operating system disk for an MC-300 I picked up recently.

I was wondering if there might be someone out there who could make a copy for me. I can send a disk and postage.

Otherwise, if anyone has any tips on writing a disk myself, please share them. I tried with a USB floppy drive in Windows 8.1, running the legacy disk writing software from Roland, but it can't detect the drive. My guess is it expects an old-school floppy controller on the motherboard. If anyone has any experience getting around this, or an old PC they'd be willing to boot up, please let me know.

The relevant files can be found at the Roland site here under General Apps & Tools:

For anyone else wondering about this, I found this seller on Ebay who will make disks for a variety of vintage Roland gear: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/133032039352

Solved my problem nicely.
