just when I was thinking "someone MUST have made a custom card by now somewhere in the world" for my Roland D50 I arrive at this glorious thread here. I understand these beauties are close to assembly by now so I'd like to ask how much one would cost + shipping within EU (Greece). Thanks, great work!

As the info page says, we do not know exactly yet, but it won't be much more than what you'd pay for a real card on ebay. We ship from Germany.

We're getting close to 3 years now. Any estimate for a ordering/shipping date yet?

The next step is to send the card parts to the assembler. We can be rather sure that the first batch of cards will be ready sometime this year (I won't give any exact dates because I don't know when this will happen). We have reached close to 120 sign-ups on the sign-up form now, so we might very well go for a second batch of cards if we find no major problems in the first batch.

So how does that work? Will the first batch cover the amount of sign ups so far? (yes, I already signed up). No rush, but my birthday is coming up in 2 weeks :)

Since some people stated in this thread that they'd like to purchase more than one card, we technically have more sign-ups than cards. However, there is no plan yet how we are going to handle this, but I think it would be fair to only hand out one card per person for the initial batch, so that as many people as possible get at least one card. People who want another card can get one from the second batch. But don't take my word for it, those are just initial thoughts. We are quite overwhelmed by this feedback. :)

Can I please suggest you don't do this as this will cause additional cost to users wanting multiple cards with additional shipping costs and customs duty. The list (IMHO) should be on a first-in-first served basis. Esp. considering some of us have been following this thread and patiently waiting as opposed to johnny-come-lately who may have only signed up last week.

I understand if that sounds harsh but that's how retail works in the real world :)

Thanks for your input - it will definitely be considered. Right now the registration list is not even "first-in-first" - the current plan is to send out a mail to all registered people so that they can buy a card once it's available. This process will then definitely be first come, first serve.

...and very good part is that there is not even the need for e-bay involvement in this to be seen, as the word is out here. E-mails and bank account is more than enough as You are in a good light here ;)

In this age of planned obsolescence, this project is simply amazing! Bought a used JV-2080 two days ago and then stumbled on this thread while trying to find out which of the existing memory cards to buy. All the best with the progression of the project - a great concept and your money is mine as soon as one is available!

God bless dyslexia.

*My money is yours. All of it. (which happens to be not much more than an M-512 on ebay would cost )

Hey all, just a quick update!

I dropped the boards and parts at the assembler last Friday. They have quite a backlog right now so the cards won't be finished before end of June, but that's okay because I'm going to be out of the country until then anyway ;) I'll have to go through testing all those cards and some final assembly after that (will take no more than a weekend) and then I can start shipping stuff!

Trying to set up a proper sales channel with the help of a forum member right now, but if that doesn't pan out in time, I'll figure out an alternative way. And after a quick check back with jojo, I can assure you we will not go for a one-card-per-person rule, so don't worry ;)

Also happy birthday, gj67! :drinks: Sorry I didn't get the cards done in time for it.
