I haven't done the maths yet so can't tell anything, but it will be roughly in the 60€..100€ range.bernbrue wrote:Is there already a price for a card?

Thanks and happily surprised you remembered itdojoe wrote:Hey all, just a quick update!
I dropped the boards and parts at the assembler last Friday. They have quite a backlog right now so the cards won't be finished before end of June, but that's okay because I'm going to be out of the country until then anywayI'll have to go through testing all those cards and some final assembly after that (will take no more than a weekend) and then I can start shipping stuff!
Trying to set up a proper sales channel with the help of a forum member right now, but if that doesn't pan out in time, I'll figure out an alternative way. And after a quick check back with jojo, I can assure you we will not go for a one-card-per-person rule, so don't worry
Also happy birthday, gj67!Sorry I didn't get the cards done in time for it.

I had a great party with close friends and family so I'm far from complaining. End of June sounds good to me, I'll collect some more equipment in the meantime...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
While I wait for the official release of this memory card, I dreamed an extension of it: an adaptor for using it on Korg instruments (01R/W and Prophecy, in my case) as a replacement for SRC-512 cards...
I just have discovered that I have a defective SRC-512. Sigh!
I may obtain the slot pinout of those Korg cards if it can be useful.

While it is of course likely that similar technology is being used, the pins look very different from Roland cards. Of course you can try building a replacement but I doubt it's within the scope of this project.

Absolutely, that's why I talked about an "adaptor": I'd need a "Roland female to Korg male pins redirector". I may study it after the purchase of the MultiRoland.ʝɵʝɵ wrote:While it is of course likely that similar technology is being used, the pins look very different from Roland cards. I'll just leave this here:

120 cards, fresh from the assembly house. Next steps: Testing, some final assembly steps, setting up a sales channel (i.e. a website and PayPal link
). I should maybe procure some sticky printable shipping labels too
I'm on vacation for the next two weeks, but I'll get started with all that once I return. Getting close!

It's been years since I asked to be put on the waiting list for this. I'll keep checking back here often but I don't want to miss my chance to buy one or two of these!

Reminder: If you put your email address in this list, we will send you a reminder the moment the cards are available (cannot guarantee that you will get a card though, since the demand is bigger than we anticipated!)
Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
I assume this has been asked somewhere along the way, but is it reasonable to assume a single card could have banks for different synths?ʝɵʝɵ wrote:Reminder: If you put your email address in this list, we will send you a reminder the moment the cards are available (cannot guarantee that you will get a card though, since the demand is bigger than we anticipated!)

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
Yes, every bank is completely independent of the other banks, and a card configured as M512 can also be used in devices that only need an M256 card (but you will lose half of the space). It only depends on whether you're too lazy to put the card into another synth or not. ;D
