All RevC cards are built and tested now. I hope I'll never have to solder one of these by hand again

I have a few cards (two or three depending on tester responses) that I haven't assigned to anyone yet, so if you'd like to get your hands on a coveted prototype for less than the final selling price and help me out with ticking more synths off on my compatibility list, please apply here ;)

I'm already covered for Roland D-5, D-50, D-550, JD-800, JD-990, JV-880, JV-1000, JV-1080, JV-2080, U-20, R-8M, TR-626, VG-8 EX, GC-8, and Akai MX1000, so please only apply if you have any gear beyond these. I'm especially looking for the A series as they're said to have compatible slots, and I haven't gotten test coverage on any of these yet. Also if you have anything that's not from Roland but still takes these cards, by all means do speak up :D

The beta cards are 60€ plus shipping (5€ unless you need it insured and tracked) plus all the feedback you can give me on how well they perform or not ;) In return I promise to investigate and fix any problems you might have, or if I can't fix it, take the card back and refund you.

Until then, have a nice weekend!
I'll be more than happy to purchase a card to test with my Roland D70

Cheers,
GJ.

Right now all the cards I have are in use for some testing, but I'll contact you if that changes - thanks for volunteering!

If by R880 you mean the GC-8 controller attached to it, then yes and very thoroughly ;) The GC-8 works well with all sizes from 128 to 512, at least with the software version 2.00 I had my hands on.

Note that in general you can put a M512 card into any device that also supports M128 and M256, but if the device "officially" only supports M256 cards, this means that the extra space on the M512 card will remain unused.

- As the first part of his post says, all card are currently in use for testing.
- As the second part says, the GC-8 is already extensively tested. Since we are currently still in beta-testing phase, we prefer to select testers based on devices that haven't been tested yet to maximize device coverage. So I'm afraid you will have to wait for now.

Thanks for testing and also thanks for the photos! Happy the card arrived safely and works well for you :)

In other news, I met with baz99 today to figure out and measure the problems the JV series are having with the RevC cards. We had a nice play around with scopes, wires and his JV1080 and eventually came up with a set of filter component values that work with the JVs. Now it's up to Zaichornok to test these same filter values in his GC-8 controller and if the modded card works in there as well, I can call this problem fixed. Fingers crossed.

Why wait? Throw to your heart's content, just don't expect a card back yet

Seriously, I'm glad you guys are still there. It's all taking its sweet time, but it will happen. Probably even before Christmas this year ;)

I have a Roland A-90 (and JV-2080) if you can still use more testers.

Cheers.

Cool, thanks for volunteering! :) I'll get back to you as soon as I know the problems with the JVs are fixed.

Hi dojoe,

I'd be interested in one of these for my Akai MX-76. Of course I'd be happy to test for you. :) I live in Sweden, by the way.
