EM-U ESI-32 stuck in transpose????

Post by miniwa » Thu Jan 30, 2020 7:13 pm

Hi, I've recently acquired an ESI-32, and upon turning it on, after going thru the loading screens (checking floppy, etc), it just shows "TRANSPOSE PRESS A KEY"... and uh. That's it. Pressing a key on a midi keyboard makes it show said key, but pressing any buttons on the ESI itself, doesn't do anything. At all. I've tried booting with and without a floppy in, with and without midi, and I can't seem to find anything about this in the instruction manual.... No lights on it (aside from on the floppy drive, when it's checking the floppy) are lit or blinking.

Anyone know what's up? :|

Transpose button is top left corner. Is it stuck, damaged, or dirty? How about underneath? There's a lot involved in getting at the buttons, if you decide to open it up for inspection.
