E-mu e6400 classic has effects?

Post by Rafael2020 » Thu Jun 18, 2020 9:43 am

Hello friends.

I have the possibility of acquiring a classic Emu e6400, but I am not sure that the sampler has effects (delay, falanger, chorus, etc) and many other features that I have heard that the e6400 ultra does have.

Does anyone know if the classic e6400 has effects? What are the differences with the e6400 ultra?

Manu, many, many thanks :) :) :)

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The RFX32 card was optional and it was introduced with the ultra series.
It needs at least EOS 4.5 to operate.
For more info here is the cards manual:

The differences are in the eos versions , the ultra and classic share the same features as the version they are running.
There are a few hardware differences though, the ultras have better processing power, they can burn new roms, they are compatible with the RFX32 , they can be updated to 4.70 (classic goes up to 4.61)
It is all about sharing...

Thank you very much for your answer, friend.

Apparently, the differences are mainly in power issues, which would not be a bigger problem for me. They are selling me a classic e6400 very very cheap compared to the Ultra. The seller told me that the sampler does not come with an external effects card, but it does come with built-in effects. Is this possible?

Thanks again for your help!
