ZIP 250P Zip drive

Post by sandwich » Fri Aug 14, 2020 10:00 am

Hi all,

Does anyone know if a ZIP250P drive can be converted to a SCSI with an adapter so that it can be used with an Emax II? I have a few ZIP250 disks with Emax banks on but the Zip drive I have is only parallel?

Many thanks
Dave

Hi,

I've never seen an adaptor to attach a parallel drive to the SCSI Port but vice versa.
https://www.kadencesystems.com/parallel ... erter.html
I furthermore don't know if they'll work in the direction you need.

Cheers

it won't work the other way. OP, it would likely be cheaper to find a scsi one, or a scsi to parallel converter (the opposite of what was posted)

Thanks,

Yes that's what I was actually supposed to be doing. I have a load of Emax Zip disks but only a few of them are 250s so I bought a zip 250 off eBay that was listed as SCSI but when it arrived I realised it wasn't hence why I asked about an adapter.

Regards
Dave

Heh heh!! I've still got an Amiga A500 in the garage and still got old sequences on floppies made on some old tracker called 'Med' or something? As for the Zip drive, I've still got several other old computers and laptops hanging about, some of which I know have SCSI, I'm wondering if I could get the Emax bank images off the Zip disks using one of those and then use EMXP to transfer them to CDs, might work?

Regards,
Dave
