roland is supposed to be announcing new gear on september 1 as well... maybe we're gonna get a good old fashioned big-company-brawl :D
Any more info on Roland? First I've heard, hope it's something good this time. :(

NB; The Korg sounds cool, sort of like an Electribe squezed into the box of a MicroKorg I guess

I have a feeling we're going to see some "groove aprooved" piece of c**p for Myspace poser DJ's.

Their Micro stuff seems so popular. Expanding the line isn't absurd but it's weird. They already have the ESX1

21 minutes - internal RAM? -
- I would like to know the storage media format.

The specs on this thing should be interesting.

Honestly, if all of this supposed gear doesn't have midi in/out they can shove it back up their a*s.

I thought someone had said 21 seconds. If its really 21 minutes and has some decent effects, editing and sequencing ala an ESX-2. I'll be the first guy in line!

not for this day and age... flash memory is cheap and can be read directly at audio rates for multiple samples at once..

I agree with the earlier post... if it doesn't have midi ports they can blow me instead.

I'm still waiting for Yamaha's answer to this. It's been too long since the AN200. Would love to see the touch screen version of their QY walkstation, with some non volatile sampling and PLG goodies (DX/AN) thrown in.

What about something with some keyboard mapping and multi-sampling (a la traditional hardware samplers) abilities in addition to the one-shot/percussion-oriented sampler? That would be different from the ESX, and any other piece of new gear out there that I can think of.

Not sure how much demand there actually is though.

that's exactly what i'm after, basically a W-30 but with more sample time, effect options etc. they would be off their block if it wasn't a traditional sampler and it has a keyboard attached to it.

I predict an updated EG-101 sans speakers. And it'll sell a crapload.
