Last week when I was in Korg's distributor in Singapore (City Music), I saw an interesting new display unit (not for sale) of a brand new Korg Micro Sampler. Yes, it has micro keys, can be battery powered, Gooseneck Microphone with around 21 minutes of sampling time (if remembered correctly). The design it self looks attractive with a reasonable price list which they still can't confirm yet. Supposed to be on the way to the street..any more info about it?

With 21 minutes of sampling it sounds like more of a phrase sampler, hopefully it does multisampling also and has a decent sequencer.

It was a rush visit and no picture taken. Assumed that there's going to be a complete info on the net, I didn't memorize clearly about the several sampling mode or the sequencer. Also, I was thinking that time that it should provide multisampling, otherwise the keyboard features will not be effective. Let's see.

Are you sure you saw this? I can't even find a mention of it anywhere on the web. Strange :?

I'm positively sure, but can't find any info on the net either..

Anyway, just got this reply from City Music Singapore:
"The MicroSampler will only be launch on the 3rd of September. The unit that
you saw was only a demo set and its for distributors view only. The price
should be around $596 after discount. You can pre-order it as well if you
want to secure a set for yourself. The unit has been kept (which I don't
know where) so I cant take a picture of it. Please feel free if you have any
further queries."

Kind of strange that a new synth from a major manufacturer that is launching in less than 2 weeks isn't so much as mentioned on a single site on the World Wide Web. I believe you, but something doesn't seem right.

I think KORG wants to give a major surprise to the world. And i think they are trying to avoid copies such as the nano series, Akai has followed in that direction. So i guess maybe that's why.

Yup, I'm very excited about this too..I sense that it's going to be a battle of portable - battery powered gears. May be something rechargeable using lithium ion battery with tight usb and software editor/integration and GB flash Ram internal memory.
