Any mini keyboard/tabletop samplers with an ADSR envelope?
I was about to pull the wallet out for the Korg Microsampler and I found out there's no way (at least I think) to adjust the attack envelope of a chosen sample. I was hoping to find a little hardware unit (mini keyboard or tabletop job [midi'd to my controller]) that I could transfer a wav file to (or record via audio line in) and tweak the attack, release (etc) envelopes to create bizzarre pads. I realize I can do this with software but was hoping to find a very compact hardware solution (even if it's not absolutely perfect). Do any of the little Akai MPC's (500?) offer this? I'm not really looking for a rackmount. Maybe such a unit doesn't even exist. Any ideas? Cheers.

There are some ios apps (nanostudio, beatmaker 2, prob more) that will do it, if you can handle using an ipod touch for this.

MPC 500 should offer basic envelope editing.
Long attack/decay coupled with note-repeat is a good way to get pads dirty style.

Sounds to me that the Blofeld with the sample option is exactly what you're after. If you're not planning on recording into it you don't need the audio ins, and the Blofeld engine is a pad monster already, adding your own samples to it is an easy drag and drop type deal and it's got more envelopes than you can poke a stick at.CaveDweller wrote:I was hoping to find a little hardware unit (mini keyboard or tabletop job [midi'd to my controller]) that I could transfer a wav file to (or record via audio line in) and tweak the attack, release (etc) envelopes to create bizzarre pads.
