How much memory does the Ensoniq EPS (not the 16+) come with standard, and how much is it expandable to?
On the VSE, we claim it had 480kb standard, expandable to 2.1MB. This info is confirmed in the book Keyfax 3 as well as at Synthony. But it has been disputed to us via email and in the VSE's EPS page comments from a Wikipedia post that claims the EPS has just 256kb standard and is expandable to 1MB.
The issue is further confused by a company called Syntaur selling Memory Expanders for the EPS, where they claim the EPS has 512kb standard, expandable to 1MB or 2MB.
Does anybody have an EPS that they can use to help us get to the truth?
Thanks!

Re: Question to any Ensoniq EPS users
I have a stock, standard EPS.
How do you want me to test it...I suppose I can sample full into memory then save that file?
edit: actually that wont work since i save to floppy images which are all a set size already.
I'll read the manual a bit more...it displays all free space in 'blocks' and i think the manual says how big a 'block' is.

Re: Question to any Ensoniq EPS users
Hi,
I've been working at a local musicshop during the 90ies and we've been Ensoniq dealer.
The EPS got shipped with 512kB (480kB to be exact) and it was possible to either expand to 1 MB or 2 MB. Expansion is needed for the SCSIinterface to fit.
The EPS16+ came with 1 MB and was expandable up to 2MB. Plus the possible expansion with a Flashbank of 512kB or 1MB.
