The Roland S-550 Library is up!

Post by D-Collector » Sun Jan 15, 2012 5:02 pm

After many requests I decided to take an hour of my life and convert the Roland S-550 library in the same way I did the S-50 one, to wave files and .akp Akai programs. Again, you should be able to use them in your favourite soft sampler, use the wave files as they are or make programs for them in Kontakt or whatever.

This nice library contains mostly acoustic, orchestral, stabs, special FX and drum samples. And a lot of pianos. AND the THX sound! 3 disk images could not be converted due to being corrupted or whatnot. I also included all the original disk images so that "new" S-550 hardware users don't have to download them one by one from the Sgroup archive, a tedious process. Everything is well organized as I usually try to have it, the conversion is divided into the same banks and disk folders as the original.

I was considering getting an account too. I understand that some people use it for piracy, but a lot of times it's for files that are public domain that are just way too large. SOPA hasn't passed since it looks like it failed, but there will be other bills soon I think.

It'll do more harm than good unfortunately.
