S5000 does anyone have a copy of Aksys for OSX?

Post by Steve Jones » Sun Dec 14, 2014 7:30 am

I am trying to find a copy of ak.sys OSX V2.61 plus the all important Mac themes.sit.hqx file so that I can edit the S5000, I have a couple of them with USB cards but so far I do all my sampling from the front panel. Any help would be appreciated!

I had heard that it needs to be an older version of OSX, the page that you posted is full of dead links unfortunately....

The copy on Akai's web site seems live.

Thanks Ashe37, good find, I hadn't found that link. I have gotten Aksys from there now, all I need to find now is the Mac version of the themes file if anyone has them, (the ones on the site that you posted is for PC only). Thanks again!

As I understand it Aksys works on quite a few different Akai products so you need the correct theme package in order to be able to load the user interface that is specific to your model of machine so that Aksys can display the correct editing pages on your computer screen. Without the theme all you get is a hierarchical menu system for moving objects around.
