Little fun with a longtime, slightly tweaked friend... no hints... and mind your ears; they might bleed from all the aliasing 8-)

I voted for the Mirage but I think it could well be an S612.

Ha, love that dirty nasty gritty sound.
I voted for the Mirage. I have the EII and even at a lower sampling rate it doesn't get that dirty.
Had a Mirage for a couple of months and it reminds me of that.
Never heard the Akai.

ps..I remember you had an EII briefly(I thought of buying it from you).
I also remember you having a Mirage, and I don't think you ever sold it.

I like your choice of New Wave standards as your sample source!

I know nothing about the WTPA, so that said -

I say it's the Akai s-612. I believe I can hear you adjusting the start/stop sliders while playing back the samples. It's pretty much the coolest thing the S-612 does.

And it can sound a lot better than your examples! but that's not the point here, right :^)

that definitely sounds like playing with a 612s sliders @0:45 and sporadically throughout
man i think im gonna go plug mine in now
and see if this old cassette of big chair will work with my goodwill tape deck!
e: lol the only way a cmid sound like that is if you sampled a 612 into it XD

Yes, totally correct--still have the Mirage ;)

I literally let youtube guide me to various appropriate sample sources!

Ya loop point modulation an "old friend" and no LPF would imply S612. Sweet sounding machine :)
