A particular Fairlight sample...

Post by VCO8 » Mon Oct 05, 2015 7:08 am

I have the whole CMI IIx library in WAV, but it doesn't seem to include a certain sample.

It's heard here at 0:29 (The sample sounds like recording of someone dropping a tin can)

and here at 2:01

Anybody have a WAV of it?

That sample is called "Scrape" - see it on the listing here:

I thought I'd heard it in the IIX library as well. Try SSSTTT in the Effect 1 disk.

If you don't have that disk - try here:

I couldn't find it at the website. I also played the SSSTTT sample, but it isn't the sample I'm looking for. (it sounds totally different). BTW, if you don't mind me asking and since you have a floppy dedicated to Gabriel, what samples were used for 'Shock The Monkey'?

On that disk, MONKEY.IN loads in MARIMONK.VC and SAXY2.VC and they are layered on top of each other.

I can't guarantee that everything with that disk is correct, as it's obviously had some things edited over the years. Like the Page R sequence for San Jacinto is only one measure long.

By the way - do you have a Synclavier? (I was looking at your avatar...)

No, that's from an ad. I'd love to own one though.
