Boss SP-505 seems to fit the bill. They can usually be found on Ebay for $150-$200. They can pitch samples, auto chop loops, timestretch, waveform editing screen, provide hours of sample time with smartmedia card, have cool effects that can also be used on external gear and they are really easy to use.

Thanks for all your help.

I've been playing around with Ableton, I thought I would give it a try but it's not really 'doing' it for me, so I think the search will be back on.

Incidentally I picked up a Scooper for a decent price, great little box, could be better, but a real beast when triggered with the 707 rimshot :biggrin: but essentially it's a modular not really a sampler

Anyway, I was looking at the MPC touch which seems pretty sophisticated not heard a great deal about it though - bit of a white elephant??

MPC1000s look ace, but arent these a bit like gold dust nowadays with prices rapidly going north???
