Korg Electribe S (ES-1) Firmware and Factory Sounds

Aside from possible bug fixes, updates, and repair this firmware can be used with either the new or old model to change between the Wah effect and a non-global Delay effect. The MK2 v1.00 firmware will put non-global Delay onto the old plastic face models (which seems to be generally more useful and preferred), and MK1 v1.06 or v1.04 will put Wah onto the newer MK2 edition, should that be desirable.

Firmware v1.05 does exist for the MK1 model, but I don't have it and I don't think Korg tech support will release it at this point as v1.06 supersedes it. It's been rumored that a v1.07 for the MK1 exists, but I have seen no solid proof of this, nor information about what it fixes. As of 2016, Korg technical support is still offering v1.06 to users experiencing potential firmware trouble, so it's possible v1.07 was made but discontinued due to some kind of problem.

Korg Electribe ES-1 mki (MK1, plastic face) Firmware v1.04:

Korg Electribe ES-1 mkii (MK2, metal face) Firmware v1.00:

Factory Sound Bank for the original mark 1 version with the plastic body:

Factory Sound Bank for the revamped mkii version with the metal body:

Note: Either or both of these banks can be loaded into either version of the ES-1. These banks just correspond to what happened to be shipped with each particular model, so enjoy them both!

All Samples / Patterns / Songs Data Clear and Reset for User Data:

Note: Loading this bank is a lot easier than manually deleting or clearing every user object.

And just for the sake of completeness, this is the utility which extracts all samples from an ES1 bank and stores them in RIFF WAV format for computer manipulation or archival. This can be handy for precision trimming, especially for fixing sample click as the ES-1 has fade out editing but fade in cannot be set.

ES1 to WAV:

And an easy way to get all your WAVs named 1.WAV, 2.WAV, etc.

Korg ES-1 ElectribeOrganizer 0.8b (Sample Renamer)

And an easy way to get all your WAVs into the 32kHz format used by the ES-1. This is a GUI version of SoX that is compatible with Windows--very simple, quick, and high quality utility. QSoX version 0.36 seems to be broken under Windows--at least the pre-built binary version--so stick with 0.35.

QSoX 0.35 (Sample Rate Converter)

Also the user's manual of both editions:
MK1:
MK2:

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any kind of ES1 bank construction software, so banks have to be manually built by hand on the sampler. Lots of "load WAV, save to bank, load WAV, save to bank" nonsense.

I've done all these things, and much prefer the mod delay on my es1 mk1 vs the crappy wah. Great compile of information though! This was mostly just available through the dying Yahoo groups.

this post is the best. thank you.
empty bank is very useful.
but i still cant understand how can i make a bank file on my pc? i didn't liked to load samples to es1 from memory card one by one... (((
by the way. http://free-audio-converter.net/ this utility can convert a pile of files to mono and lower khz rate in a few clicks.

That's because you can't. It all has to be done manually because no one has written a properly working bank management program.
