Roland R8 Power supply

Postby NCChao1268 » Wed Sep 06, 2017 1:42 am

Anyone ever had or currently own a Roland R8 or R5? The power supplies are extremely hard to find and very particular of a plug. Hard to find online since they are really rare. Anyone ever had to find a power cable for and R5 or R8 Drum machine? Any tips on finding one or any tips on making your own?

Thanks for reading,

-Nathan

Probably the best approach would be to remove the socket, fit a more common socket such as a chrome plated 3-pin miniDIN chassis mount and then build a little +10V/-10V split rail PSU for it as the original power supplies are rarer than hen's teeth.

That said, I believe at least up to a few years ago Roland were selling spares but they were pretty expensive.
