Yamaha Motif ES6: "note repeat"- function?

Postby shawnkemp » Thu Feb 22, 2018 4:18 pm

hi guys,

i am a mpc user for long time and now i’ve got the chance to purchase an ES6 for a good price. i’ve browsed through the manual but there remains an important question for me.

is there a function like this (example starting around 4:10) in the motif es6?
Watch on youtube.com

if no, is it possible to accomplish this while creating an (in this examples case) drum-arpeggio? does anyone know?

i know this can be done on motif xf but the es6 is an older model than motif xf.

thanks in advance!

Nope, not on the ES. I don't recall my XF having such a feature either, but I always finger-drummed my drum parts.

The ES lets you step enter notes which would be the quickest way to get repeats. There is also a "create roll" sequencer job you can use.

Once you have a sequence recorded, you can convert it into an arp pattern.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.
