Good MIDI Keyboard for Hardware?

Does anyone know of any good MIDI keyboards that can integrate well with a complete hardware setup with no software involved? A lot of the MIDI keyboards today seem to integrate specifically for DAWs, but I'm finding it difficult on deciding on something that's really encompassing with aftertouch features, NRPN etc but is also easy to use.

Any suggestions?

so are you looking for a modern 61 to 88 keyboard to work with a full modular setup??

there are midi to cva control modules that will go both ways in the euro racks!!
as far as good midi key beds...
I like roland...
some like Yamaha...
but I do own the m3m keybeds as well!! an 88 as well as an 61 keybed…
as long as you use a radias or m3m module you can get midi to use with
the cva conversion modules.
maybe something like this unit.
Pittsburgh Modular MIDI3LFd1 sweetwater
I hope this helps on your quest for sound!!

Lower end keyboards tend to lack aftertouch and real MIDI ports.

"Easy" is controllers are very easy to set up, plenty are easy to operate once properly set up. The biggest issue with most controllers is whether it's possible to store enpough mappings to get knobby control of everything you wish to control. Most do not support paging of the controls.

Akai MPK, Novation Impulse or Novation SL mkIII would be my suggestions.

The Ensoniq EPS16 & ASR10 samplers make good controllers & have the option of onboard sampling & sounds, effects, as well. Same with EPS Classic(no effects, though) Really depends on how you want to set up & work in your studio

I have the akai mpk249, and its completely programmable, you can set everything up the way you want and it has real midi and a nice keyboard.
