Unidentified Binson echo unit (fixed image)

Post by invisiblea » Mon Aug 26, 2019 7:31 pm

Hello,

Apologies if this is the wrong place, but...

Does anyone know what this is?
Image

I know it's a Binson echo unit, but I can't find any other images or info about it on the internet. I saw it in a flea market in Italy, and decided to take a photo and do some research on it before buying it. I spent too long trying to find out what it was and the market had closed before I went back to get it.

Any help appreciated.

Good lord, I've not seen one of those since the 70's. The one I had wasn't made by Binson, but it looks almost the same. :o

The disc that you can see is a custom coil of recording wire (no tape), the record and playback heads are arranged around the disc to provide the effect... It's going to be hit-and-miss if it works and almost imopossible to get a new disc.

I upgraded to an HH slide tape loop echo which I still use ;)
