Roland Juno 2 Alpha Dial issue

Post by dubbeldekker » Tue Dec 08, 2020 9:05 pm

I've got a Roland Alpha Juno 2 where the Alpha Dial only works 'down' or anti-clockwise. Also when turned clockwise, it will only adjust parameters 'down' or left but not up.

I've found I could replace the encoder with a Bourns Rotary Encoder, which I did, but it didn't seem to fix the issue.

Does anyone have a schematic of the synth or has any ideas of where to look for a solution?

Hi and welcome on board :)
Schematics here : ... _NOTES.pdf
Encoder does not send proper direction signal.
1) Check cables from encoder board to main board.
2) confirm 5v on the 3rd contact of the encoder
3) Replace IC6 4093 on mainboard.
good luck !
