"SGI on bus" is a setting on my E4K 3.0b - I can't find any reference in the E4K manual or the E4 eos4.7 manual as to what that is. Anyone got any ideas?
I know it refers to some device that can be attached to the scsi bus like the Mac on scsi addr 7.
It's not critcal, just a geeky need to know everything kind of thing.

Re: SGI on bus
I have never used this feature but I have an idea of what it means.
Back in the days , there were PCs , MACs and Silicon Graphics Incorporated (SGI) computers.
SGI computers were used for graphics and video production and I guess that they had SCSI interfaces.
I believe that the option "SGI on BUS" enables communication with a SGI computer.

Thanks Mr Y, that makes sense. My brain is programmed, when I see xGI I think in terms of computer graphics card. Although this time I went for "Interface" and that was the puzzle... Graphics Interface??
I suppose now, do I want to hunt down a SGI computer! I have the Mac IIfx OS7/SCSI/Alchemy option which is really good.

Re: SGI on bus
I have never seen a SGI computer in person, afaik they were sold on corporate level and the company did not do much to support their fans community so I guess that is why they are long forgotten.
Haha a SGI computer would be the perfect gem for your computer collection !
