Robot Rock sound on Korg Minilogue xd

Post by lucade2210 » Fri Apr 30, 2021 7:11 pm

Hey whatsup, newbie here

I've recently got a new Korg Minilogue xd and I want recreate some classic sounds. I really love the synth in Robot Rock by Daft Punk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFZjqVnWBhc&t=30s (Yes, I know it's sampled from Release The Beast) but I can't seem to get it right on the korg. I know it was originally made on a Prophet 5 with a classic 2 osc sync and some pitch modulation, but I'm not sure how to set it up properly the get that really growly sound.

Anyone suggestions? :p

Post a link to some audio and let's hear what you've gotten so far.

A Prophet has no velocity, so turn that off on the Korg. Experiment with the synced oscillator to find the frequency that gives the amount of nasality you're after before you try sweeping the pitch.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.
